💬Our Patron, prominent legal professor Jerome Cohen’s appeal on the CROWDFUNDING campaign for THE 29 PRINCIPLES💬
“… This means in many countries now, those of us who were concerned with human rights in China can take the occasion of participating in supporting extradition treaties and defences against extradition. And we ought to do that until China decides to improve its criminal justice system, to inspire confidence in foreign governments, NGOs, and human rights activists. So I encourage you to take a look at the European Court of Human Rights decision of October 6th in the case of Hung Tao Liu vs Poland, and there’s an excellent article by two Taiwan scholars in the blog of the European journal on International law.
We can do more even though we’re abroad to help people in China. ”

The 29 Principles is a UK-based organisation supporting lawyers facing human rights oppression and advocates for the rule of law in Hong Kong and China. If you’re a lawyer or not, we couldn’t carry out our work without financial support. Through donating to us, you’d be helping us to carry out our training programmes, counselling sessions and providing aid grants. For this year, we wish to raise 🔆£45,000🔆 in order to maintain our projects in support lawyers. (Our current projects👉🏼 29principles.uk/en/contents/how-we-work)
The 29 Principles is a small non-profit organisation, registered in the UK, and entirely independent. As a small team, we have comparatively few organisational costs, meaning that a large part of your donation can go straight to supporting lawyers on the ground.
