HOW WE WORK

“Under Suppression, We Connected”

Lawyers-at-Risk Learning Project

We bring together networks of Human Rights Lawyers, from Mainland China and beyond, to share experiences of combating human rights abuses under authoritarian regimes.

Lawyers-at-Risk Research and Advocacy Project

We research the experiences of human rights lawyers, and help raise awareness of their struggles to associations in the UK, US and Europe.

Lawyers-at-Risk Legal and Humanitarian Aid Project

Many lawyers and their families have lost their livelihoods due to their work. We offer legal aid grants and emergency funds to support lawyers and their families to stop them falling into poverty.

Lawyers-at-Risk Mental Health Project

The lawyers we work with are subject to torture, surveillance, harassment among other abuses, causing an epidemic of mental health issues. We provide access to counselling sessions and peer support meetings, to help them heal and build resilience.

Lawyers-at-Risk Media Project

We collaborate with activists, journalists, lawyers, academics and civil society organisations to raise awareness on the abusive uses of state power by Chinese officials.
