The National Security Law was enacted on 30 June 2020 in Hong Kong, as of 28 June 2022, 198 people have been arrested under the law, with 10 having completed their trials at an 100% conviction rate.
The most severe penalties include life imprisonment. Several arrested individuals have been denied bail, and many have been detained pre-trial for over two years.
